Additional Regatta Information: The 22nd running of the modern classic Coastal Cup ocean race from San Francisco to Southern California has a new finish destination: Marina del Rey in Los Angeles. The beautiful Del Rey Yacht Club is partnering with Encinal Yacht Club this year and will host round-the-clock dock receptions for the racers when they finish. Since this is the first time the race goes to Marina del Rey, new records are waiting to be set. Also new this year is the rating system that takes into account the different conditions of the course. We're using a unique Coastal Rating which will be an average of a boat's Northern California Downwind rating and the Southern California Off Wind rating. Kame Richards, Jim Antrim and Chris Hemans will develop the ratings for the participants. The starts off the St. Francis Yacht Club race deck are scheduled for June 11 and 12; the Awards party at Del Rey Yacht Club is June 15. The race is open to crewed as well as shorthanded entries and multihulls. The Notice of Race, rating and registration information is published at http://www.encinal.org/. The registration deadline is May 17th; we can only take 50 entries, so sign up early.
