The Annapolis Safety at Sea Seminar is held at the United States Naval Academy in Alumni Hall. The dates for 2020 are March 28 and 29.
Nothing takes the place of a Safety at Sea Course for learning about how to cope with whatever challenges the sea throws your way. Celebrating 41 years, the Annapolis event was the original Safety at Sea Seminar. The 1979 Fastnet Race disaster caused sailors around the world to rethink their approach to safety. Officers, coaches and sailors at USNA responded with the very first Safety at Sea Seminar. Annually over the last 40 years, mariners from across the country have participated in the continuously evolving event. Each year, technical experts, premier ocean racers, adventure sailors and sail training professionals blend their expertise into what has become the most complete and comprehensive US Sailing endorsed safety training seminar
